I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.
£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Saturday 10th OctDoing It All for Daisy-Lee: Turning My Heartbreak Into Something Meaningful 🦋💗
On 1st January 2026, at 4:28am, my world changed forever. I welcomed my beautiful daughter, Daisy-Lee, into the world. She was my little girl, my happiness, my heart, and one of the most precious things that had ever happened to me.
I never could have imagined that just four and a half months later, on 17th May 2026, my world would be shattered in a way I will never be able to put into words. Losing Daisy is a pain no parent should ever have to experience. There are no words to describe what it feels like to lose your child, and no amount of time makes the fact that she is no longer physically here any easier to understand.
Daisy will always be my daughter. She will always be loved, she will always be missed, and she will always be a part of me.
Since losing Daisy, I have had to learn how to navigate a world that looks completely different from the one I knew before. There are days when the grief feels unbearable, days when I struggle to understand why this happened, and days when I wish more than anything that I could hold my little girl in my arms again.
But amongst all the heartbreak, I have found something I want to dedicate my time, my energy, and my heart to: doing as much as I possibly can in Daisy’s name.
Why I Want to Take Part in So Many Charity Events
I want to take part in charity events, organise fundraisers, raise awareness, and support causes that make a difference because I want Daisy’s name to be part of something meaningful.
I cannot change what happened to my daughter. I cannot bring her back, no matter how much I wish I could. But I can try to make a difference in her memory. I can help other families, support important causes, and raise money that could one day help another parent or child.
Every charity event I take part in will have a purpose. Every pound raised will represent something bigger than money. It will represent love, hope, remembrance, and a little girl who will never be forgotten.
For me, this is about keeping Daisy’s memory alive in the most positive way I can. It is about giving her a legacy that continues to grow, even though her life was far too short.
I want to look back one day and know that, despite everything I have been through, I did everything I could to make a difference in her name.
A Mother’s Love Never Ends
People often talk about how time is precious, but you never truly understand just how precious it is until you lose someone you love so deeply.
Daisy’s life was far too short, but the love I have for her is endless. She has changed me forever, and although I wish with every part of my heart that things had been different, I will always be grateful that I got to be her mum.
Being Daisy’s mum is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Nothing will ever change that.
Taking part in charity events is one of the ways I can continue to show the world how much she means to me. I want people to hear her name. I want people to know that she existed, that she mattered, and that she is loved beyond words.
She may not be here for me to watch her grow, celebrate her milestones, or make the memories I dreamed of making, but I can still make memories in her name. I can still do things that make me proud to be her mum.
And I will.
Helping Other Families Along the Way
One of the reasons I want to do as many charity events as possible is because I know that there are other families out there facing their own struggles, heartbreak, and unimaginable situations.
If I can help even one family feel less alone, help fund research, contribute towards vital services, or support a charity that makes a real difference, then I want to try.
I want Daisy’s name to be associated with kindness, compassion, generosity, and hope.
I want to use whatever strength I can find to do something good, even on the days when finding that strength feels impossible.
I know that fundraising will not take away my grief, and it will never replace my daughter. But it gives me something to work towards. It gives me a way to channel some of the love I have for her into something that could help someone else.
And if something I do in Daisy’s memory makes another person’s life a little easier, that will mean so much to me.
This Is My Promise to Daisy 🦋
Daisy-Lee, you will forever be my little girl.
I wish I could have had a lifetime with you. I wish I could have watched you grow, heard your laughter, celebrated your birthdays, and held your hand through every stage of life. I wish things had been different in ways I will never be able to explain.
But because I cannot do those things, I want to do everything I can to make sure your name continues to be heard.
I want to take part in charity walks, fundraising challenges, events, and anything else I can manage. I want to give my time to causes that matter and encourage others to get involved too.
I know it will not always be easy. Grief comes in waves, and some days will be harder than others. But I will keep trying, at my own pace, in whatever ways I can.
I am not doing this because I have stopped hurting. I am doing this because I love you. I am doing this because you deserve to be remembered. And I am doing this because being your mum is the most important part of my life, and that will never change.
You may have been in this world for only four and a half months, Daisy, but your impact on my life will last forever.
Every event, every donation, every conversation, and every act of kindness in your name will be another way of showing the world that you were here and that you will never be forgotten.
My beautiful girl, this is for you. Always and forever.
For Daisy-Lee. My daughter, my heart, my forever angel. 🦋🤍
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever my little girl.

I am so proud of everything you’re doing. Daisy would be so proud of her mummy.
