Raising awareness
Sands is a charity that gives parents and families the support they need at a time when life feels impossible. They create spaces for people to talk, grieve, and heal, and they push for better care in hospitals so no one has to feel completely alone in their loss. I never got that chance — no therapy, no professional support, just me fighting with my own state of mind day after day. On the other side, Azarie’s mother also reached out for help but was let down, and now she too is resting. That’s why this cause means so much to me. No parent should ever feel abandoned in their grief. With the right support, people can find strength to keep moving forward, even with such a heavy loss. Running for Sands is my way of making sure others can get the help we never had.
