In Memory of Our Little One: Running 2k a Day for Families Experiencing Baby Loss

This February, I’m taking on a challenge: running 2k every day for the entire month to raise money for Sands, a charity dedicated to supporting families affected by the loss of a baby.

In 2023, my partner and I faced the heartbreak of a missed miscarriage. What should have been a moment of joy became a difficult journey, made even more painful by sepsis, two surgeries, and the heavy emotional toll of such a loss.

Sands ensure that families like ours are given the support they need and deserve during the most difficult times. They campaign for change, provide essential training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research aimed at preventing such losses—so that fewer families have to endure the tragedy we faced.

While we honor the memory of our first little one, we are also endlessly grateful for our nearly 18-month-old daughter, a daily reminder of hope and love.
