I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Why I’m Running 2km a Day for SANDS This January
Sunday 28th DecThis January, I’m committing to running 2km every day to support SANDS, the charity that supports anyone affected by baby loss.
I work in maternity and while my job is often filled with joy and new beginnings, I also see the heartbreaking reality of baby loss.
SANDS provides vital support to parents during the darkest moments of their lives — offering a listening ear, guidance, and reassurance that they are not alone. I see firsthand how important compassionate, specialist support is for families navigating loss, both in the hospital and long after they go home.
By running 2km a day, I want to do something small but consistent to honour the babies who are gone too soon, support the families left behind and raise awareness of a charity that makes a real difference.
