I’m walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Thanks for the sponsor guys I appreciate so much. This charity does so many great things for parents who have gone through pregnancy or baby loss. I really like the fact that they also work along side health care professionals to improve care for parents in this situation.
When I went through some pregnancy complications which unfortunately ended up in a pregnancy loss there was 1 occasion I sat in A&E with a suspected miscarriage for 7 hours. The staff sat me next to 2 other women in the A&E department who I heard were also going through the same thing as I guess it was easier for them to group us together. Not 1 member of staff asked me how much I was bleeding or if I needed any pads. They wanted to walk me and the 2 other patients down to the gynae department together to get reviewed for ease for them. It all felt very impersonal and was lacking in compassion and empathy when it was needed the most. I was then sent home alone as they dont scan at night time to be told to come back in a few hours without any education of what to look out for or what to do if things got worse.
I fully understand about work load pressures being a nurse myself but pregnancy loss really is a lonely time and to be made to feel like another number just made me feel worse so the fact that this charity is working along side health care professionals to hopefully improve this for other people is amazing. Thanks again x
