I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.
Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support.
By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.
£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.
£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Why
Tuesday 5th AugOn June 26th, my world quietly and heartbreakingly changed. I went for what was meant to be a routine pregnancy scan — full of hope, nerves, and the beginnings of plans and dreams — only to be told there was no heartbeat. A missed miscarriage. Two words that carry so much pain, yet are often spoken about in hushed tones, if at all.
Grief has a strange way of settling in. It doesn't always scream; sometimes, it whispers. It lingers in the what-ifs, the due dates you'll never reach, the baby items you paused to look at, the name you quietly tucked away. It lives in the silence after the news no parent ever wants to hear.
In the midst of that silence, I knew I needed to do something — not just to honour the tiny life that was lost, but to reclaim my strength, speak out, and help break the stigma that surrounds miscarriage.
That’s why I’m running the Ribbon Run on October 11th.
It’s not just a run. It’s a statement. A tribute. A way to turn pain into purpose.
💗 I’m running for the baby I didn’t get to hold.
💗 I’m running for every parent who has had to sit in that same ultrasound room and hear those same devastating words.
💗 I’m running to raise awareness around miscarriage and baby loss — because it's far more common than many realise, and yet so often met with silence.
💗 I’m running to help fund the research, support systems, and compassion that families in grief so desperately need.
💗 I’m running to heal — one step at a time.
Thank you for reading and for any sponsorship small or big it is greatly appreciated.
Love
