I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Saturday 31st Jan
Our final run completed! Perfectly timed to be a Parkrun with friends, especially Kristiina, who has been completing this challenge too 🥰 Vinnie and I have really enjoyed and are super proud of our daily runs, totalling 101km, especially knowing the money raised will help so many others! Thank you to everyone who has supported us with donations or motivation along the way!

Lil man only fell asleep at the 2k mark, so we had to keep going until he woke up 🏃‍♀️ 😴

We couldn’t make Parkrun this morning, so the three of us did our own Willen run! Danny technically cheating as he used a scooter to keep up and shout words of encouragement, like “You can go quicker than that!” or “Faster!!”

Enjoyed a scenic run at Willen, without the crowd, today. Lil man cant resist the rocking of the running buggy, so a 2k run turned into 6k whilst waiting for him to wake 😴

Another day, another run! An absolutely drenching parkrun this morning, Vin was the only dry one left by the end 🌧️

We’re half way through our challenge now and it was marked by a very wet run! I was drenched before even starting- trying to get the buggy set up! Shoes like puddles and the handle of the buggy squelched with each turn, everything was soaked except for lil man tucked up and warm! 🌧️

Another non-stop day today, but we made sure to prioritise our run. Lil man was very sleepy afterwards, clearly it’s hard work being pushed in his buggy! 😅

A very busy day, so struggled with fitting this one in! But we did it- in the nick of time before the rain- and reserved some energy for a badminton match later on 🏸
