I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Saturday 28th FebThis March, I’ll be walking 100K for Sands — a charity that holds space for families navigating the unimaginable loss of a baby.
This is more than just a physical challenge for me. It’s deeply personal.
I’ve experienced miscarriage myself. And while it’s something so many people go through, it can feel incredibly lonely. The silence around baby loss can be heavy. The words often feel hard to find. The world keeps moving, even when yours has quietly changed.
That’s one of the reasons I’m choosing to walk.
Because it is okay to talk.
It’s okay to say their name.
It’s okay to grieve a future you had already started to imagine.
Charities like Sands gently remind families that they are not alone. They provide practical support in hospitals, fund research to save babies’ lives, offer bereavement services, and create safe spaces for parents and families to speak openly about their loss. They quite literally help save lives — both physically through research and improvements in care, and mentally by supporting those carrying grief that can feel overwhelming.
When you’ve walked this path yourself, you understand how vital that support is. The right words, the right guidance, or simply someone sitting beside you in understanding can make all the difference.
So throughout March, I’ll be putting one foot in front of the other until I reach 100km. Some days will feel light. Some will feel heavy. But every step will be taken in memory, in solidarity, and in hope.
Hope that conversations continue to open up.
Hope that fewer families have to say goodbye too soon.
Hope that anyone experiencing loss knows there is support waiting for them.
