I’m walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

We are walking 100km in March for sands in memory of my daughter, Ivy Mae & son, Luca. Sands is a charity that offers support for families who have lost a baby in pregnancy and shortly after birth.

I had a termination for medical reasons with my daughter in 2019 after attending her 20 week scan and being immediately reffered to fetal medicine in southhampton which confirmed she had HLHS as well as other complications. This meant that she was ‘incompatible with life’ and for me at 21 years old, I made the decision to end the pregnancy. This is something I have held a lot of guilt for as well as grief.

 In 2024 after almost 3 years of infertility, tests, scans and 6 months of medicated cycles we fell pregnant with my son, Luca. We attended a routine appointment at 25 weeks and were told the words that I can still hear so clearly “I am so sorry, there is no heartbeat”. The pain and heartbreak was no less with my daughter, both scenarios ended with indescribable pain and a grief that I will carry with my for the rest of my life.

So this month we will be walking in memory of both my babies and to help raise money for the SANDS charity- please donate is you are able to, it would mean so much !
