Moments without Memories Fundraising

Hi, i am Skye, 22 years old.

This is my story and reason:

Recently, I was rushed to hospital with severe pain, believing I might have appendicitis.

Instead, during the tests, I was unexpectedly told that I was pregnant. I sat in the hospital bed in complete shock and from that moment, pregnancy became my new reality. I started thinking about baby names, looking at bigger houses and imagining the life and memories we might share as a family.

Just two days later, after more tests, I was told that I was miscarrying. I broke down and couldn’t stop crying. In an instant, I wasn’t only losing my pregnancy—I was losing my baby and the entire future I had already begun to picture.

The aftermath has been incredibly difficult. Not only physically but emotionally too. Sitting in the pregnancy unit surrounded by expectant mothers, and being reminded of what I lost can bring all the pain rushing back.

It stayed constantly on my mind throughout the days and weeks that followed. Although I knew about my baby for only 48 hours, there is no minimum amount of time you must know about a baby before you can love them, dream about them or grieve them.

That is why I am walking 100km throughout October 2026 for Baby Loss Awareness week/month.

I am aiming to raise £1000 to support people affected by miscarriage or baby loss. I want to turn some of my heartbreak into something meaningful, raise awareness of the impact of early pregnancy loss and any other form of baby loss to help others feel less alone.

I am walking in memory of the baby I never got to meet but will always carry with me—because every loss matters, and even the shortest life can leave a lifetime of love.

I'm fundraising in aid of Sands, for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.
