I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Baby Loss Awareness Week!

Thursday 9th Oct
Although today marks my 3rd walk, Baby Loss Awareness Week has officially started today🤍

Can't lie, I've had a terrible night sleep, been up since 3.30am and feel like rubbish today, but staying true to my promise I got myself together and forced myself out after the school run.
My watch decided to run out of battery 3.4k into the walk (funnily enough when I made a quick pit stop at Gregg's 🙈), and so I've had to add the rest into my Garmin app manually. This meant that I didn't actually know how far I'd walked until I got home and I'd actually done 6.17k today💪🏽So I'm feeling proud. Legs are aching and my toes are blistered but it's all worth it!

I (along with Vinny in tow) am going to be taking part in the Ribbon Run for Sands over the next week for baby loss awareness week🧡
Sands is an amazing charity that supports bereaved families who have sadly lost babies in pregnancy or the neonatal period, providing support and advice, and also funding research and training to save babies lives. 

I'm not an avid walker or runner, and in all honesty I've been especially weak over the last few months, but I'm going to push through to complete 5km per day from now until the 15th October. We would be hugely appreciative of any donations received to support this essential cause. Even sharing the post and raising awareness of the charity would be incredible, as you never know who may be in need of their support❤️

No family should have to go through the pain of losing a child, and hopefully there will come a time where research finds all the answers, but most certainly the right support needs to be in place to support families through this difficult period 🤍

Tuesday 7th Oct
Our first 5k. Took longer than expected but I made the mistake of going through a park/ nature reserve which for the most part was very uneven and uphill. Feel as if I did double the distance with how hard work it was 🤣 This is my first long walk since having Vinny and I'm proud that we managed to do it, no matter how long it took!
