100km in May for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to jogging / walking 100km in May on behalf of Sands charity.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times.

They campaign for change, provide training for midwives / healthcare professionals and support research so that fewer babies are lost before they have the chance to begin.

With no amount too small (or too large!), anything you are able to donate in support means so much.

Alternatively, I'd be more than happy for you to reshare this post with family, friends and colleagues - playing your part to help spread the word.

Thank you.

My Updates

Day 31 - Smashed it!

Sunday 1st Jun
At a final count of 101 miles, a job well done. Thank you to all sponsors and supporters across the months. A fantastic challenge and even better cause!

Day 28 - a little help from our friends

Wednesday 28th May
Entering the final days of the challenge now... where has May gone? Smashed through the early targets and now pushing to make 100 miles by the end Saturday 31st May. It's going to be close - 19 miles to squeeze in to the last few days!

Day 18 - Home straight

Sunday 18th May
Sorry folks a but slack on the posts and photos this week. But..  the finish line is in sight with just 9 miles to hit the target.

Walks have including lunchtime city strolls, a long rural loop of the local area and even tasty fish and chips in Southport to mark a sunny Sunday.  Big thanks to all sponsors and supporters 🙏

Day 10 - Finding balance

Sunday 11th May
Yes! Made it to the half way point of this journey and feeling great. What I've really enjoyed is incorporating the walks and runs into daily life - school run, lunchtime walk or adventure with the kids. It really makes the extra effort sustainable and enjoyable without agro. We've got this!

Day 7 - Family first

Thursday 8th May
Some downtime yesterday to celebrate the man child's 15th birthday. Feels good to rest the legs but ready to go again for week 2. 50km now in sight, come on!

Day 3 - Yorkshire day tripping

Sunday 4th May
Gods country. A visit back to the homeland and first visit Knaresborough. Beautiful spot and now fast approaching the first 20km of the challenge. Thank you to all sponsors and well wishers - we hit the sponsorship goal!!!!

Day 1 - school run & post work city walk

Thursday 1st May
Live by Strava and die by Strava. Over 6km recorded today. Lost strava signal part way, missing out on an extra 2km!!! Ah well, we get back up and carry on!
