I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Running Every Day for SANDS 💙

Thursday 1st Jan
This January, I’m taking on a personal challenge that’s going to push me both physically and mentally: running 2km every single day throughout the month. No matter the weather, no matter how tired I feel, I’ll be lacing up my trainers and getting it done.
This challenge won’t be easy. January mornings are cold, motivation can dip, and fitting in a run every day alongside normal life will definitely test my discipline. But I’m completely determined — because this isn’t just about running. It’s about running for a cause that truly matters.
Why SANDS?
I’m fundraising for SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity), an organisation that provides vital support to anyone affected by the death of a baby. SANDS offers compassionate bereavement support through helplines, resources, and local groups, helping families navigate the unimaginable grief of losing a child.
They also work closely with healthcare professionals to improve bereavement care and fund research aimed at reducing the number of baby deaths in the future. Their work ensures that families are not alone during the darkest times of their lives — and that’s something worth every step, every cold run, and every sore leg.
Why I’m Doing This
Running 2km a day might sound small, but consistency is the real challenge. Showing up every single day mirrors the strength and resilience shown by families supported by SANDS — strength they never chose but carry every day.
If my runs can help raise awareness, funds, and support for this incredible charity, then every mile is worth it.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate, share my page, or simply send a word of encouragement, it would mean the world. Your support will help SANDS continue their essential work supporting families and saving lives.
Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting, and thank you for helping turn this challenge into something truly meaningful. 🏃‍♂️💙
