I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

a very bittersweet ending to the challenge, a year ago today we found out we were pregnant and a year on I’m completing a challenge to raise money for a cause that I never thought would be close to my heart, so I’m feeling extremely overwhelmed but also so proud to have gotten this far 🤍✨🪽

Monday 26th Jan

feeling extremely overwhelmed with gratitude this week with what I’ve been able to achieve up to now 😭 within my first week I doubled my target because I had nearly hit what I set to raise initially, and within two weeks I doubled my running distance ✨🤍

I’m currently sat here updating this page feeling slightly under the weather, I had always aimed to be able to complete longer runs because I knew it would be important to have rest days so I’m fortunate I was able to do that because currently I have zero energy 😔 but with only 11km to go and 5 days to complete the challenge, I have to pull through!

Wednesday 21st Jan

twenty one days into January and I never thought I’d reach the point where I’m completing a 5km run 😭 definitely finding it easier running alongside someone! I’ve also come to the point where I’m potentially looking at completing the odd park run, who even am I?! Only 17km to go, although I’d love to be able to over achieve the distance but we shall see 🫶🏻

Monday 12th Jan

Completed my longest run to date today, just over 4km alongside my girly! Would not have been able to push through without her and little Rej who was living his best life 🫶🏻 I cannot believe I just ran 4km, what the hell 🥺😭 onwards and upwards, can’t cope with how far I’ve come already just super chuffed and grateful!🤍

Just checking in, posting this as I’m waking up on day eight to get ready for my morning run 🫶🏻 I’m honestly truly overwhelmed by everyone’s support so far, to everyone that’s donated, to everyone that’s cheered me on from the sidelines and also to those that have joined in alongside me! I never expected to see such big progress at this point and I’m so so happy considering I went into this a complete beginner in running. 14k down and 48k to go, let’s do this 💕

Thursday 18th Dec

Decided to get out and start some training today ready for my challenge in January. I’m not normally one for running but I think it went surprisingly well considering the weather. Super happy with the result and really looking forward to seeing the progress (hopefully in time for the new year) .

This January, I’m setting myself a simple but meaningful challenge: running 2km every single day.

I’m doing this to raise funds for Sands, a charity that provides vital support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby. Baby loss touches more lives than many of us realise, and the impact can last a lifetime. Sands is there to support those in need.

Every run is a reminder of why I started and who I’m running for. If my miles can help raise awareness, fund support services, or simply remind someone that they’re not alone, then every step is worth it.
