I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

April 4 - Our Easter present came early 🤰🏼

April 14 - First ultrasound 5 weeks and 3 days, 4.6mm “sesame seed” with a strong heartbeat. 

May 10 - Second ultrasound 9 weeks 4 days, no heartbeat, first round of medication to induce miscarriage.

May 12 - In pain, rushed to hospital, another scan/last look at our angel. 

May 13 - Second round of medication. 

It’s crazy how fast everything can change. In the blink of an eye you can go from tears of happiness, full of excitement and then, completely shattered in a single moment. 

It was a rough few weeks, I was exhausted and terrified. I was incredibly grateful but so scared. Although it didn’t work out the way it was supposed to, I felt so blessed to have carried you for the 9 weeks that I did. I just wish things could have turned on different. 

I don’t know what else to say, I don’t feel hopeful, I don’t feel like everything happens for reason. I never thought that I’d be the 1 in 4. 

The journey is not easy one. I may have only hold you in my womb for a moment but I will hold you in my heart forever ♾️
