I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

As it comes to a year since wee Phoebe was taken too soon, I wanted to do something in her memory. Sands have been absolutely fantastic in providing support during the toughest times, and I’ve committed to taking part in the Sands Ribbon Run during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9–15 October).

I’m running for every much-loved baby who is sadly not here today.

Sands work tirelessly to make sure everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve. They also campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support vital research so that fewer families experience this tragedy.

Anything you’re able to donate would mean so much.

£10 could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to keep safe precious memories of their baby.

£35 could answer a call from someone reaching out for support after pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to support healthcare professionals with training and guidance.

This year, I’m taking part in the Ribbon Run to raise money for Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity.

Sands does incredible work supporting families through the most heartbreaking of times—providing bereavement care, resources, and a community for those grieving the loss of a baby. They also campaign for vital improvements in maternity care and fund research to help save babies’ lives.

Every year, Sands provides over 2,500 memory and care boxes to families facing the loss of a baby. These special boxes help parents create and keep precious memories—a forever box of love.

And that’s just one of the amazing things Sands does. They also:

Run free helplines and support groups for grieving families.

Provide training for healthcare professionals so parents receive the best possible care.

Fund research and prevention to reduce baby loss.

Campaign for change to improve maternity and bereavement care across the UK.


Every step I run is in honour of the families who have experienced unimaginable loss, and to help Sands continue their life-changing work.
