I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run in Manchester which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week on Satrurday 11 October 2025. I am taking part for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.
£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.
£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Tuesday 30th SepIn April this year, my world changed forever when I had to say goodbye to our precious baby at just 24 weeks and 6 days. No words can truly describe the heartbreak of losing a child, and this is a grief that will always be a part of me.
In the midst of this pain, I have found comfort in wanting to do something that honours our baby’s memory and helps other families who face the unimaginable. That’s why I am taking part in a 5K run during Baby Loss Awareness Week, to raise money for Sands, the charity that supports anyone affected by the loss of a baby.
Sands not only provides vital bereavement support but also works tirelessly to improve maternity and neonatal care, and to fund research that helps save babies’ lives. Their work gives families like ours somewhere to turn in the darkest of times, and I want to give back so they can continue to be there for others.
Running this 5K is more than just a challenge for me – it’s an act of love. Every step I take is for the baby we lost and for all the babies who are gone too soon. It’s also for the parents, families, and friends who carry this grief silently every day.
If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean so much. Your support will go directly towards helping Sands continue their incredible work, and it will be a way of remembering and honouring the little lives that left us too soon.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading, supporting, and walking alongside me in this journey.

Sending you all my love Meaghan. My brother & his wife lost their first two babies, we all felt their pain. Thankfully they went on to have a boy & a girl, now adults. You’re a wonderful young woman to want to give back in the midst of your grief. A strong lady just like your mammy 💗
