I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss
I’ve rewritten this more times than I care to admit, because it’s hard to find the right words for something that changed us so deeply and is so personal. But I’m sharing it because conversations like this matter and need space to raise awareness.
Towards the end of last year, we experienced pregnancy loss. One of the hardest things for me was watching my partner go through it all, the physical pain she had to endure, the emotional toll and the mental toll that followed. Feeling so helpless while someone you love carries that weight is something I’ll never forget. She showed that she is the most incredible woman, not that I needed reminding of that... It made me love her even more than I already did, and appreciate how amazing she is, as she carried on with life through it all.
Baby loss doesn’t just take away hope; it leaves lasting scars, often carried quietly. Seeing that first-hand showed me how important real support is for families going through this.
This month I’m running 2k every day for Sands, the baby loss charity. Sands supports families through the darkest moments, offering understanding, comfort, and care when it’s needed most.
This is also the beginning of my training for the Yeovil Half Marathon in March, assuming my knees don’t give up before then as I'm old, as I'm frequently reminded 🤣
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount helps Sands continue supporting families when they need it most. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for showing kindness 🤍
