My name is Chris and I am the organiser of this year’s Maldon Prom Ribbon Run. In 2023, my partner and I lost our baby son, Louie, and this inspired us to take part in Sands Ribbon Run 2023. In 2024 we decided to host the Maldon Prom Ribbon Run 2024, which raised a whopping £4618! We are so thankful for the support offered by Sands during the saddest period of our lives, and I hope that this year, Ribbon Run 2025 can raise even more money than last year.

We would love your support this year; you have the option to fundraise yourself, by joining this Ribbon Run and getting people to sponsor you, or if you would not like to take part physically, you can donate here directly to the Maldon Prom Ribbon Run.

I will be present from 8:30am on the morning of the run for any questions you may have about the route and fundraising. You can also contact me at the email above. More details about Ribbon Run and Sands below. I look forward to meeting you all on Saturday 11th October!

We’re taking part in Sands Maldon Prom Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Support us as we take on 5, 10 or 15km together in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Ribbon Run is a sponsored run, walk or jog where thousands of people come together to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. It’s free to sign up and it’s up to you how you take part. You can run it, walk it, push it, or jog it; alone or with friends and family.

By sponsoring us, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a bereaved family with a support pack and resources when they need it the most

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Parkrun info: Please note, although you are able to complete this run anywhere, if you do want to do this at Maldon Prom Parkrun, it will need to be limited to 5km to fit in with the usual Parkrun event.
