I’m taking on Winter Walk and walking 50K in December for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to taking on Winter Walk and walking 50k in December for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Why I’m doing a second Charity event for Sands?

I’m taking part in a charity walk for Sands in loving memory of my two precious girls — Lily, born in November 2008, and Poppy, born in October 2014.
Their time with me was heartbreakingly short, but the love I have for them is lifelong. They will always be my daughters, always part of who I am, and always held close in my heart. This walk is one of the ways I carry them with me — step by step, memory by memory.

Losing a baby changes you in ways that words often fail to express. There are quiet moments that ache, milestones that are missed, and a love that continues with nowhere to land. Sands is a charity that understands all of this. They offer comfort, guidance, and a community for parents who find themselves in the deepest grief. They also fund crucial research and work to improve care, so that fewer families have to experience this kind of loss.

Every step I take is for Lily and Poppy.
For the dreams I had for them.
For the birthdays we never got to celebrate.
For the love that still grows, even in their absence.
I walk to honour their memory and to stand with every family who has loved and lost a baby.
