I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Completed!

Saturday 31st Jan
Wow. 31 days come and gone. 31 runs completed. So overwhelmed with emotions right now. Relief that it’s over of course😂 but also proud to have got it done and completed. When I started this challenge I was extremely unsure of whether I could get it done or not. And now here I am 31 days later, FINISHED! Can’t quite believe that it’s real and that I’ve done it. If me 3 years ago could see me now, she’d think it’s AI, she’d never believe it😂 but here I am, 31 days and 62K later🩷

Going Strong

Saturday 10th Jan
At the start of this challenge I doubted myself. I questioned whether I would be able to complete every day without fail. However, through the strength of knowing that I will be helping Sands to support and save countless families and babies in the future, I am still going strong. Not only is my performance improving, but my motivation keeps growing stronger and stronger as I read more and more into the work that Sands carry out💜

My Story

Thursday 25th Dec
I got married last September and a week previously I had taken a test and saw a faint line. It wasn’t very prominent so I ignored it and assumed I was seeing things. 2 weeks after our wedding I unfortunately experienced a miscarriage. This destroyed my heart and I truly realised what people meant that it stays with you forever. We have tried since but so far we have not been lucky enough to be blessed with our rainbow baby yet. But every month is terrifying and the fear is there with every cycle I go through.
This is why I have decided to take part in this fundraising activity, to raise more awareness of the after effects and to help Sands in their incredible efforts to support the families who go through these ordeals.
