I’m hosting a Starlight Walk for Sands

I’m hosting a Starlight Walk for Sands as I want to help those affected by the loss of a baby to find the light in the dark. Every day 13 babies die before, during or shortly after birth. I am raising funds to help Sands continue to build a world where more babies survive, and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Please sponsor me and help Sands create a legacy of hope and comfort, showing the world how much every baby is loved.

Starlight Walk is a sponsored walk where hundreds of people come together to walk under the stars to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. If you’d like to join me on this challenge, you can sign up here http://www.fundraising.sands.org.uk/starlight-walk Starlight Walk events take place across the UK or you could choose to take part virtually at a location of your choice.

On the darkest of nights, the stars shine the brightest.

Hey..
Thank you for your support. I am taking part and organising a walk in memory of our beautiful girl Hope.

Like many families we lost apart of us that will stay with us until our last breath… this is just a little of our story.

My waters broke at 16 weeks, me, family and mostly hope held on as long she possibly could, I went into labour at 24 weeks 4 days. Hope took 1 breath, that was her last.

I’d like to tell you a bit about hope. I use to sing to her a lot!  Hope enjoyed music just like her mum & dad, I new this bc we got to feel her kick when I’d would rub my  belly, sing or play music through my phone, putting it on my belly.
Hope had a button nose like me, long toes and finger like her dad. She was a fighter but was just to small and never had enough water in the sac.

As a mum I have carried guilt since, I felt my body let down the 1 thing it’s meant to protect. Doing this walk and keeping her memory alive is something I can do for her!

dont want to make this about me! It’s important to me that people realise when anyone has this loss, no matter how far  on you are, you already have had memories with your baby.

From the minute I found out I was pregnant we all started imagining her as the wee sister. I pictured her first bath with me her dad and her siblings gathered round, watching her face as she felt the warmth of her first bath, . Her granny picking knitting patterns to knit her something special for coming home, her aunty talking about how she can see her curls and blonde hair already bc of her big sisters! Me and her dad talking about how more crazy the house will be with all the kids running about
.
My point is, although we never got to actually live these memories with her, we already pictured them with her! Hope is loved everyday!

I am so thankful for the supportive family me, her dad and kids had around us, for the memories we all shared and made just talking about her.

It’s been 10 years and I still find it hard to out this into words. However, this walk is a chance to light uo her name in memory while supporting families at the same time.

This walks in memory of Hope Gail McCaffyery and all the other beautiful babies who were to beautiful for this world.
Thank you again 🌈💕
