I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss
This January, I’ve committed to running an incredible 2k a day (oh my gosh)!!!!
All to raise money for Sands… A charity I am personally incredibly grateful for, who support families affected by pregnancy and baby loss.
Our story: In September, I was three months pregnant when I went into hospital and was reassured that everything seemed okay, with a follow-up scan booked just to be safe. At that scan, it all changed — we were told that our baby had died, but my body hadn’t recognised it and was continuing the pregnancy as normal.
I was booked in for surgery the following morning, but before the planned surgery could take place, I went into labour at home and suffered a severe haemorrhage but still could not give birth. I was taken straight to hospital, rushed into theatre for now emergency surgery where they delivered our baby and operated on me. Soon after, the baby was then sent for a post mortem and finally a close by cremation.
Sands have provided so much care and support during the whole time and each difficult moment experienced.
