Jog 31 Miles in May 2025

I’m jogging 31 miles in May for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to jogging 31 miles in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Updates

1st May 2025 (Day 1)

Thursday 1st May

Today, I did something I wasn’t sure I could. After 3 or 4 months of absolutely no fitness, no gym, not even a proper walk. I laced up my trainers and jogged 1.4 miles. It wasn’t for a personal goal or some New Year resolution I’d forgotten about. It was for Sands… a charity that means so much to me.

The run wasn’t easy. My legs protested, my breathing was off, and I had that familiar voice in my head asking why I was doing this to myself. But then I thought about why I signed up in the first place. Sands supports families dealing with baby loss, something deeply personal, painful, and important. Running for them felt like carrying the memory of little lives that were lost, and showing up for those who live with that grief every day.

Every step felt symbolic. I wasn’t fast, but I kept going. When I reached the end of the 1.4 miles, it wasn’t about the distance anymore. It was about starting again, about honoring something bigger than myself, and proving that even from a standstill, I can move forward.

I’m sore now but proud. This was more than just a jog. It was a small, meaningful act of love and purpose. And I think it might just be the beginning of something new.

Here’s to more miles, more meaning, and more moments like this.
