I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

On 22 December 2011, our beautiful son was born. He was a little fighter from the very beginning, spending his short life in the NICU at the Ulster Hospital. On 8 February 2012, we said goodbye to him far too soon after his brave battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Watching him fight through every struggle brought unimaginable heartbreak, but also showed us what true bravery really means. Our lives were changed forever. There will always be a gap that can never be filled or replaced, but his strength made us stronger as a family and taught us the true meaning of love and courage. I will be raising money for SANDS, a charity that supports families through the pain of losing a baby. Their care and compassion mean so much to families facing the unimaginable, and we hope that by sharing my son’s story, we can help others feel less alone 🤍💔🤍
