I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk

I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk as I want to help those affected by the loss of a baby to find the light in the dark. Every day 13 babies die before, during or shortly after birth. I am raising funds to help Sands continue to build a world where more babies survive, and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.  

Please sponsor me and help Sands create a legacy of hope and comfort, showing the world how much every baby is loved.

Starlight Walk is a sponsored walk where hundreds of people come together to walk under the stars to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. Beyond our wildest dreams

Friday 5th Dec
We as a family are overwhelmed with the generosity of our family and friends 
To raise this much money is beyond our wildest dreams 
We have this much on the sands website but also cash from fundraising from our local which has yet to be paid in 
This money will go towards supporting other families that are going through been through or unfortunately don’t know it yet but will go through one of the hardest parts of their lives 
Giving birth to our David George In January 2024 knowing we would never bring him home not only effected me and my husband David it also effected our family 
This tiny baby who was so wanted wasn’t going to be apart of our lives in person ( thought he will always be part of our lives )
 which I couldn’t understand
 I couldn’t bear to tell Betsy who at the time was 11 she was the baby of the family ( at that time ) 
But how could anyone tell an 11 year old mummy is having a baby , but she’s not bringing that baby home 
We couldn’t do it and decided to keep it from her 
2 years on 
She’s not stupid 
She has known for a while ( but didn’t want to upset me and say she knew )
She’s heard us talk about him 
She’s seen me cry 
So when she told me she knew and we talked and I said I’m proud of you for how she’s handled this news for her to say back 
“ and mum I’m proud of you “ 
Swelled my heart 

For my other children Tommy and Jess I’ll never forget how you was there for me 
While you was going through your own battles with it 
And while I was acting crazy and trying to navigate my way through you was always there for me 
Silently and loudly 
Mummy loves you 
Mummy loves all 4 of you way more than you could ever imagine 
I am so proud to call you all mine

As 2 years approaches in January when our David George was born poorly and way to early we thought we would do this sponsored walk to not only honour our sons memory but to help all those effected by baby loss
The ones who have been through it , are going through it and the one who are yet to go through it
