My 2k a day challenge!
I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January to support Sands, a charity which supports families like mine who have lost a baby.
It will be 10 years in June since our beautiful baby girl Pixie was born 16 weeks early. She was perfect in every way, just tiny. She fought so hard against every challenge thrown her way but at 9 days old it was too much and she passed away.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you for reading and for anything you can donate, it helps more than you know xx

Day 25. I’m back!!!!
Sunday 25th Jan I’ve had to walk my 2km the last two days as my right leg all the way down to my ankle and into my metatarsals were hurting and if I didn’t rest then I wouldn’t be able to complete my challenge. The constant impact has slowly taken its toll and I’m determined to not give up.
Day 20. Gym run 4,581.
Tuesday 20th Jan Another cosy work gym run today. No waiting around this time for a treadmill, there was a free one so I nabbed it…. No warm-up just straight in. 2km sub 12 minutes on a sprint. Happy!
Day 19. The Falling Down Leggings Run
Tuesday 20th Jan I ran over to Shoreham beach today, don’t know why, I just fancied it. I realised that my body shape has changed as the leggings I had on needed hoiking up every 5 seconds which was a little distracting 😂 but a sign of a little weight loss during my challenge.
Day 18. Park and lake run.
Sunday 18th Jan I had a complete change of scenery today as my lovely mum suggested and ran around Brooklands. I ran around the lake twice and made sure to take advantage of the different pathways around the back to mix it up. This meant I got to see lots of doggos 😍
Day 16. Can’t be arsed run number 2
Friday 16th Jan I really didn’t want to do it today…. Like really didn’t. It took every ounce of motivation to get out and run, I also chose a route through the airport and by the riverbank which was very windy, muddy and wet which didn’t help. But with a calm playlist I did it. Managed 5km so it was worth it in the end. Share
Day 14. The Aiming Higher Run
Wednesday 14th Jan I ran in the gym again today and went for slow and steady because I wanted a longer run today. I had 3k in my mind but as I got closer I changed to 3.5k. I did it again as I got close and ended up doing 4.5k! I felt so good afterwards and really happy that I’d done such a long run. Here’s to tomorrow…. ☀️ Share
Day 13. Sprint run!
Tuesday 13th Jan Felt amazing today after my treadmill 2k today, I sprinted on 11kph which is pretty fast for my short little legs 😂
Day 9. Just can’t do it
Monday 12th Jan There’s no run today.
Day 8. Oh my god my legs run.
Monday 12th Jan Yesterday was a mistake haha! My legs are so achy today, but I’m not giving up and just pushed through to do my run today. I managed 2.5k! Happy with that. Although probably will regret it later… Share
Day 7. HIIT and run
Monday 12th Jan I think I’m getting brave 😂 I booked onto a HIIT class today which was great! And did my 2k after, which was a little tougher than the day before but I did it. Although my legs were starting to feel a bit wobbly so it wasn’t the most sensible idea I’ve ever had… but another day and 2k ticked off so I’m happy! Share
Day 6. Cosy run
Monday 12th Jan I ran in the gym today, a much warmer run and no risk of skidding on ice!
Day 5. Snowy run
Monday 12th Jan What a beautiful surprise! Waking up to a sprinkling of snow, it is only a layer and already more like ice by the time I can get out to run. It’s probably the most boring run I’ve done so far, dodging ice patches and going only where I can see where it’s safe. Typically manage that ok but nearly get taken out by a chihuahua called Lola who was obviously a Xmas pressie and not trained on a lead yet….🫠 Share
Day 4. Tap out
Monday 12th Jan I’m kidded out and god love them but they’re so loud it’s overwhelming. I tap out for 20ish and have a great run! Nearly get run over by a cyclist… note to self, turn my music down.
Day 3. Another chilly one.
Monday 12th Jan It’s super cold again today and my ears are freezing 😂 I look a weirdo with my headband but it’s keeping ‘em warm and my headphones in.
Day 2. 29 to go…
Monday 12th Jan I’m enjoying the random road runs and going wherever I feel like. Feeling good for two days back to back and my distance today. 29 days to go, boom 🤩 Share
Day 1. Brain Freeze
Monday 12th Jan Official first day of the January challenge and I’m so ready! I do come home with sore lungs and brain freeze though, it’s so cold! I’m happy with the distance and I know the time will get quicker. But it will only get easier, and having the challenge up on my wall just spurs me on 💕 Share
Day 12. Can’t be arsed run.
Monday 12th Jan Today is the day I knew would come. I couldn’t be arsed at all. My mind was in total shut down to go out, no enthusiasm whatsoever. And the weather was horrid. BUT the mind is a powerful thing… “it’s only 20 minutes out of your day” was going around and around in my head… so out I went.
Day 11. Jelly run!
Sunday 11th Jan It was so windy today! Definitely blew away some cobwebs, and felt like I was running in jelly in my run along the riverbank. But my stamina is really coming along and it spurred me to push harder and when I finished I felt amazing!! Such a high afterwards. It was one of my longer runs as well so I’m feeling really happy today 💕 Share
Day 10. Rage running.
Saturday 10th Jan My run today was fuelled by rage but it felt so good to run it out. My watch had run out of battery so my run couldn’t be tracked and my headphones weren’t working, so it had thrown me as my routine wasn’t right. Also my legs had to rest so no running for day 9 sadly, but today was one of those where I could have just kept going and it felt amazing.Thank you to my Sponsors
