I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Walking 100km for Sands: A Journey of Healing and Hope

Sunday 1st Sep
This September, I’m taking on a personal challenge that holds deep significance for me: I’m walking 100km to raise funds for Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society. Sands is a charity that provides invaluable support to those affected by the loss of a baby, and their work means the world to me.

As someone who has experienced the pain of miscarriage, I know all too well the silent grief that follows. It’s a pain that often goes unspoken, yet its impact on mental and emotional well-being is profound. The loss of a baby is an experience that changes you forever—it’s a grief that lingers, touching every part of your life in ways you never expected.

When I lost my baby, I felt an overwhelming sense of emptiness and sorrow. It wasn’t just the physical loss; it was the loss of dreams, the future I had imagined, and a part of myself. The mental effects of miscarriage can be isolating, making it hard to find solace or understanding. But organizations like Sands are there to help, providing support, resources, and a sense of community for those of us navigating this difficult journey.

This walk is more than just a physical challenge for me—it’s a way to honor my baby, to give back to a charity that offers hope and healing to so many, and to raise awareness about the importance of mental health support following a miscarriage. Every step I take is in memory of the child I lost, and for the countless others who have gone through the same heartache.

Walking 100km in a month is no small feat, but it’s a challenge I’m embracing with determination and purpose. I’m doing this not just for myself, but for all the parents who have had to say goodbye too soon. I want to remind them that they’re not alone, and that there is help and hope available.

If you feel moved to support this cause, please consider donating to my fundraising page. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly to Sands and help them continue their vital work. Together, we can make a difference, and ensure that no one has to face the pain of baby loss alone.

Thank you for your support, and for walking alongside me—whether in spirit or in steps—as I take on this journey of healing and hope.
