I’m jogging 31 miles in May for families facing baby loss
Hi everyone, and thanks for stopping by.
I’m no runner, but this May, I’ll be running 31 miles in honour of every much-loved baby who is sadly no longer with us.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
For me this is personal, every step I take will be in memory of our lost baby Elora, and with that, any distance will be small in comparison to the journey we have taken so far.
My heart breaks for the countless families who have experienced this too—each with their own story to tell.
For so many of these families, Sands has offered support in small but deeply meaningful ways, and in huge ways I’m sure I’ve barely begun to fully appreciate.

Day 1
Thursday 1st MayToday I ran for the first time in nearly three years. I left the house with a simple plan: reach the top of Dundee Law as part of my fundraising for SANDS UK, a charity supporting families after the loss of a baby.
I got to the top, came back down—and just kept going.
The miles passed, and with them came thoughts of my family, and the quiet weight of love for our daughter Elora, who is no longer with us but never far from me.
