In 2008, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of my baby girl, Angel, who was diagnosed with Dandy-Walker Syndrome, a rare condition. At six and a half months into my pregnancy, I faced numerous complications during her birth, including a retained placenta that led to the loss of six liters of blood and required multiple transfusions, very nearly losing my life. I also contracted an infection during this difficult time. The trauma and sadness of that experience linger with me, and whenever I grieve, it brings back memories of that day and her funeral.

To honour her memory and in gratitude for the incredible support I received from SANDS after my loss, I have committed to running 2k every day in January. A little donation will help support this wonderful charity.
