I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

For Pippa
Wednesday 17th DecThis January, I’ve committed to running 2km every day for every much-loved baby who is sadly not here today.
Our beautiful baby girl, Pippa, died on 21/06/24 when she was just five days old. While I feel incredibly lucky to have two healthy, happy baby boys, Pippa will always be so deeply missed. At this time of year, I should be wrapping her Christmas presents and signing cards with her name on them. Instead, I sign them from “the Westwells” so that she is never left out.
When we went swimming this weekend, the lady on reception asked Stanley if he had a brother or sister. He said he had both. She then asked if it was twins in the pram, and Stanley explained that he has a sister, Pippa, who is in heaven, and a baby brother, Luca, in the pram. He made me so incredibly proud how he talks about her.
I’m hoping that my 2km run on 31st January will be a little faster than on 1st January — for Pippa, and for every baby who is so loved and so missed.
I’m fundraising for Sands, who ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve during the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support vital research so that fewer babies die and fewer families have to experience this heartbreak.
