I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Why I'm fundraising for Sands

Saturday 10th Jan
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting my fundraiser. It truly means more than I can put into words.

A little bit about me — I’m a nurse, a wife to my amazing husband Tim, and a very proud mum to our beautiful baby girl, Rosie. My family is everything to me, and caring for others has always been a huge part of who I am, both personally and professionally.

Towards the end of 2025, I went through an incredibly difficult period in my life. It was a time that challenged me more than I ever expected and had a significant impact on my mental health. I’ve always been someone who bottles things up and keeps going, but this experience made me realise how important it is to slow down, be honest with myself, and focus on healing.

Exercise has always been my therapy. When things feel overwhelming, moving my body helps clear my mind, rebuild my strength, and remind me of what I’m capable of. That’s why I decided to set myself a personal challenge — running 2 kilometres every day — to support Sands.

Sands is a charity that supports anyone affected by pregnancy and baby loss. They provide vital support services, work to improve maternity care, and fund research to help save babies’ lives. It’s a charity that is incredibly close to my heart and one that supports so many families during their darkest times.

This challenge is about more than just running. It’s about improving my own health, honouring my journey, and hopefully raising money to help Sands continue their amazing work.

If you’re able to donate, share, or support in any way at all, I would be so grateful. Thank you for being part of this journey with me and for helping make a difference for so many families.
