I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Hello, I'm Jessica, Rafaela's mummy. In June 2022, we lost our 2nd baby girl, at 34 weeks + 4 days, due to an undetected infection (Strep B) which caused my waters to break prematurely, resulting to our beautiful girl being born still the following day. Nothing could've ever prepared me for losing my daughter and every moment that followed. Losing a child is a pain no parent should ever have to feel or go through, but it happens, everyday, families hearts shatter and their worlds crumble. 
I was so unaware of baby loss before it happened to me. I truly never, ever believed that would've happened to me & my baby girl and it did.  Giving birth to Rafaela has changed me in ways I can't even explain but it has made me realise that happiness & sadness can coexist together in everyday life & events. She taught me how precious life is and I am grateful she is mine and she chose me to be her mummy, my lemon girly. 

I am not a runner, I am a busy mum of 4 babies (3 earth-side) but I wanted to take part in SANDS Run 2k a day, in memory of my beautiful daughter, Rafaela Lucia-Olivia and would love if you could help me raise awareness and support such a wonderful charity.

 Please Donate as little or as much as you can, you're helping so many bereaved families get the support that they so desperately need, and helping me honour my precious girl and keeping her memory alive.
