I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support.

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

My Updates

Hey everyone.

Thursday 7th Aug
Not sure how much you are aware but, in January 2024 we lost our baby. Our baby wasn’t well and we had to go through a TFMR (termination for medical reasons). I won’t go into details with what our baby wasn’t every well with, because its not about that.

I was 17 weeks pregnant the day I lost my baby and I could not survive the grief after. I really struggled. I wanted the world to just swallow me up. I cannot explain the heartache and just pure overwhelming feeling of helplessness, I’ve never known a grief like it. I was hollow inside, or at least that’s how I felt.

It’s only thanks to charities such as Sands who offer counselling that actually helped me. I look back and believe I wouldn’t have coped without the support I received. The care and just understanding I received really helped me learn how to manage my feelings.

I will never get to meet my baby but I have learned how to keep living my life. One way is by doing fundraising events such as this Charity run.

This is the first time I’ve openly spoke about what happened, so I hope it’s come across clear. But if anyone can donate anything, I know times are tough, but every little bit really makes a difference to help someone going through something so so hard.

Appreciate any support,
Jade xx
