I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.

Why I’m Running 2km a Day in January
Sunday 28th DecJanuary is usually a quiet, reflective month, but this year I’m choosing to make it a little louder, a little harder, and a lot more purposeful.
Throughout January, I’m committing to running 2 kilometres every single day to raise money for SANDS UK, the charity that supports anyone affected by baby loss and miscarriage.
This isn’t just about fitness.
It’s about remembrance.
It’s about compassion.
And it’s about standing with families who have had their world changed in ways that most people never see.
Miscarriage and baby loss are heartbreakingly common, yet still so often suffered in silence. Behind closed doors, people grieve not just a loss of a baby, but lost futures, lost dreams, and a quiet ache that never really disappears. SANDS is there in those moments: offering support, understanding, counselling, resources, and a voice for families when they feel they have none.
Running 2km a day might not sound huge, but doing it every day, through dark evenings, cold weather, tired legs, and busy life, is my way of choosing consistency over comfort. It’s a daily act of remembering that for many families, there is no “day off” from grief, and that support should be just as constant.
Every step is for the babies we never got to meet.
Every mile is for the parents who carry love and loss side by side.
Every donation helps make sure no one has to walk this journey alone.
If you’re able to support, share, donate, or simply follow along, thank you.
Your kindness truly means more than you know.
Let’s turn January into something that brings hope where there has been heartbreak. 🤍
