I’m running 2km a day in January for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to running 8k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Running 2Km a day in January for Sands
Friday 26th DecMy name is Ian, and throughout January I’m running 8km every day for Sands, a charity very close to my heart. That’s 62km over the month, but I’m pushing myself further with a personal goal of 250km.
Sands supports families affected by stillbirth and neonatal death, offering vital care, understanding, and support during and long after loss. This cause means a great deal to me, as Sands were there to support me personally when I needed it most. Running is my way of giving something back, remembering the babies gone too soon, and standing with the families left behind.
Some days the runs will feel easy, others much harder, but grief doesn’t take days off, and neither will I. Every kilometre is about raising awareness, showing compassion, and helping Sands continue their incredible work.
