Running for Levi 💙 2k Every Day in January for SANDS
Tuesday 30th DecJanuary is often about fresh starts, but for us it’s also a time of reflection, love, and remembering. This year, I’ll be running 2 kilometres every single day in January for SANDS, a charity that supports anyone affected by the loss of a baby.
I’m doing this for our son, Levi Lewis and his Uncle Ryan
On 8.9.25, we lost Levi through miscarriage. There are no words that truly capture what it feels like to lose a baby you already loved, dreamed about, and made space for in your heart. One moment, the future feels full of possibility; the next, everything changes.
Grief after miscarriage can be incredibly lonely. Often, it’s a quiet loss — one the world doesn’t always see, but that stays with you every day. Levi may not have taken a breath, but he existed, he mattered, and he will always be our son.
SANDS support families through the darkest moments of baby loss and help break the silence around a subject so many people suffer through quietly.
Running 2k a day is my way of:
Honouring Levi’s short but meaningful life
Giving grief somewhere to go
Turning pain into purpose
Supporting other families who may be walking this road now or in the future
Some days, the runs will feel manageable. Other days, they’ll be hard — physically and emotionally. But grief doesn’t take days off, and neither will this challenge. Every step is for Levi.
