For Isadora 💜

I’m running in memory of my daughter, Isadora, who was born in January 2021 and died at just 3 months old. Losing her changed my life forever, and carrying her with me in this challenge means more than I can put into words. I’m new to running and have never taken on anything like this before, but I want to push myself—physically and emotionally—in her honour. Every run is a reminder of her strength, her love, and the impact she will always have on my life.

This January, I’m taking on the official Sands 2K-a-day challenge—but with my own personal twist: I’ll be running 3K every single day! That’s 93K over the month, and I’m going to try and round it up to 100K to push myself even further—all to raise funds for Sands, the charity that supports families affected by the loss of a baby.

This cause is incredibly close to my heart. Losing Izzy was the most devastating experience of my life, and I know how vital support is for families going through such unimaginable pain. Sands provides that support, offering care, resources, and a community for those who need it most.

Every step I take this month is in memory of Isadora and for all the babies who ran on ahead and are loved and missed every day. My goal is to raise awareness and funds so Sands can continue their incredible work.

If you can, please donate and share this page. Your support means the world to me and helps make a real difference for families who need it.

Thank you for standing with me and honoring Isadora’s memory. 💜

My Updates

50 Kilometres, One Heart, and a Little Girl Named Isadora

Wednesday 14th Jan

Today I realised I’m halfway through my challenge of running 3 kilometres a day. Fifty kilometres done. Halfway already. On paper, it’s just a number — a milestone — but emotionally, it feels like so much more than that.

Some days the run feels light. My legs move easily, my breathing settles, and for a few minutes the world feels simple. Other days, every step feels heavy. My body runs, but my mind drifts — to memories, to quiet thoughts, to the things I carry with me even when no one can see them.

Running has become more than exercise. It’s become a space. A space to process, to grieve, to remember, and sometimes, to feel strong again.

Losing a baby changes you in ways that are hard to explain unless you’ve lived it. The world keeps moving, but part of you stays frozen in that moment — the moment your future shifts forever. You grieve not only the baby you lost, but the life you imagined, the milestones that will never happen, the birthdays you will never get to celebrate the way you should.

This Saturday would have been my baby girl Isadora’s birthday.

Even writing that feels strange. Birthdays are meant to be joyful, loud, full of cake and candles and laughter. Instead, her birthday arrives quietly, carried in my heart rather than my arms. She is always with me, but days like this make her absence feel heavier, sharper.

When I run, I sometimes think of her. I think about how love doesn’t disappear just because someone does. I think about how grief and strength can exist in the same body, in the same breath. I think about how every kilometre I run is proof that even after loss, I am still moving forward — not because the pain is gone, but because I’ve learned to carry it.

Fifty kilometres down. Halfway through the challenge. Still showing up, even on the hard days.

This run isn’t just about fitness. It’s about resilience. It’s about honouring my body for what it can do and my heart for what it has survived. It’s about Isadora — my daughter, my love, my forever.

As Saturday approaches, I’ll run with her in my thoughts. One step at a time. One kilometre at a time. Halfway there — and still going.
