We’re running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss
This January, my partner and I will be running 2km every single day for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts — SANDS, the charity that supports anyone affected by baby loss.
In September 2023, we experienced a miscarriage. It was a loss that changed us in ways we never expected. Like so many others, we learned just how silent and isolating grief can be, especially when it’s something the world doesn’t always know how to talk about.
Baby loss affects so many families, yet it’s still something that often goes unseen and unspoken. SANDS provides vital support, understanding, and a safe space for those navigating the unimaginable — whether that’s through miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss. Their work helps ensure that no one has to face that journey alone.
Running 2km a day is our way of doing something positive with our grief. Some days will feel easier than others — physically and emotionally — but that feels fitting. Healing isn’t linear, and neither is grief. Each run is a moment of reflection, remembrance, and hope. A way to honour our baby, and all the babies who are no longer here, while supporting the families who need compassion and care the most.
If you choose to support us, whether by donating, sharing our story, or simply having conversations about baby loss, please know how deeply grateful we are. And if this cause resonates with you personally, we’re holding space for you too.
Thank you for helping us turn something so painful into something meaningful.
We run with love, remembrance, and hope — every step of the way.
