Frankie’s Footsteps

In August 2025, our lives changed forever when we experienced a missed miscarriage and lost our baby, Frankie.

Like many expectant parents, we were excited about the future and had already begun imagining the life ahead. We had hopes, dreams, and plans for the little person we couldn't wait to meet.

The news came as a complete shock. A missed miscarriage meant that although Frankie had passed away, there had been no signs or symptoms to tell us that anything was wrong. Walking into what we thought would be a routine appointment and leaving with our hearts shattered is an experience we will never forget.

The loss of Frankie has been devastating. There is no timeline for grief, and although life moves forward, the sadness and heartbreak remain. We didn't just lose a pregnancy; we lost the future we had imagined and a baby who was already deeply loved.

Just 11 months after losing Frankie, we welcomed Frankie's little sister, Amélie, into the world. Amélie has brought so much joy and light into our lives, but her arrival did not replace the love we have for Frankie or the grief we still carry. Our hearts simply grew bigger, making space for both love and loss.

Sadly, baby loss and miscarriage affect far more families than many people realise, yet it is still a subject that can feel difficult to talk about. Too many parents suffer in silence, feeling isolated in their grief.

That is why we are taking part in Frankie's Footsteps.

We are walking to remember Frankie. We are walking to raise awareness of miscarriage and baby loss. We are walking to help break the silence surrounding pregnancy loss and to let other families know they are not alone.

This year, we will be walking together as a family.  along side Frankie's Mum & Dad will be Frankie's proud big brother, Nicholas, baby sister Amélie, and even our loyal dog Sean. Together, we will be taking every step in Frankie's memory.

Most of all, we are walking because Frankie mattered.

Frankie will always be a part of our family, always be loved, and always be remembered.
