I’m walking 100K Where's Wally Style!

I’ve committed to walking 100K Where's Wally Style!
I will be taking on this challenge in September for much-loved babies sadly not here today.

Each 1km I walk I will personally dedicate to a special baby that is sadly no longer with us. To honour them, I will tie a ribbon to a tree branch at the start of every km I walk and will play any special songs and read any poem or prayer in loving memory of the child.

If you would like me to dedicate a km of my walk to a loved one, for yourself or a loved one, please contact me.

Upon completion of the walk I will send a photograph of the ribbon in place and its view of the countryside and send a map location of the km I walked in remembrance.

For my walk I decided to take inspiration from a childhood favourite book of mine, Where's Wally and go real life! So I will be dressed as Where's Wally for the entire 100k in the hope of catching some eyes, having some fun, and raising much needed funds for an inspirational cause.

If you see me be sure to give me a shout and I'll be happy to give you the photo opportunity to share online.

For those who won't get the opportunity to see me in person you can follow my blog daily throughout September for updates.
I may even throw in some real life Where's Wally photos for you so stay tuned 😀

See you September Where's Wally fans 😀

Tuesday 17th Sep
Saturday 21st September 2024! ‐-------------------------------------------------------- Will you spot me? #ifoundwallyinbrum --------------------------------------------------------- The country scenes weren't giving me much of an opportunity to blend in with the crowd to create the real life Where's Wally images I was looking for, I stand out like a sore thumb! So I'm going to the big city in the hopes I blend in...some 😀 ------------------------ Wish me luck.

Snowdrops & Magpies

Tuesday 17th Sep
For Mother and Daughter, Nina & Caroline. Snowdrops and Magpies. For me the symbolism couldn't have been stronger and the message any clearer. Snowdrops symbolise new beginnings, hope, rebirth and your ability to overcome challenges. “One for sorrow, two for joy, Three for a girl, four for a boy, Five for silver, six for gold, Seven for a secret never to be told. Eight for a wish, nine for a kiss, Ten for a bird you must not miss. Eleven for health, Twelve for wealth. Thirteen beware, It’s the devil himself. Fourteen, make your choice, Fifteen, take your pick, Sixteen, the sweetest, Seventeen, your heart’s wish. Eighteen for a letter, Nineteen for better, Twenty, the future, It’s now or never.” The magpie has been a symbol of good luck for centuries. It is often seen as a sign of joy and foresight and a bringer of news. For many cultures, the presence of this bird is seen as an omen of good fortune and prosperity. In more recent times, magpie superstition has also come to represent hope and strength in trying times. This symbolism comes from its ability to find food even in harsh conditions and its willingness to take risks to survive. The magpie’s adaptability is often seen as a metaphor for resilience, courage and optimism when facing difficult circumstances. Magpie symbolism has been used in literature and art throughout history, representing themes such as loyalty, friendship, wisdom and freedom. Nina & Caroline, I hope you continue to say 'Hi Maisie' to the magpies and be reminded that you can still find joy and security despite your hardships. By embracing the Magpies spirit of resilience, courage and optimism, you can both weather any storm that comes your way with grace and determination. I am honoured to dedicate a km of my 100km Wally walk to your precious baby girl Maisie Scarlett. Sending all my love to you both 🧡

Having my daughter support

Thursday 5th Sep
Yesterday evening my daughter and her best friend went out raising awareness about the great work Sands does and they received a massive £38 in donations from our generous local neighbours! Its given the girls a real confidence boost knowing they've not only gone and achieved more than they had expected but ultimately that they are helping to do something for grieving families. Thank you to everyone that supported them it really means alot to me and them and the families who are supported by Sands.

Wally on the motorway bridge!

Monday 2nd Sep
This had to be the most fun part of my 10k walk today. I waved from the bridge at passers by going along the M6 motorway and the looks on their faces were incredible 😲 They couldn't believe they were seeing 'Where's Wally'! .... and the kids in the cars were waving out of their windows, cars beeped, lorries honked, we got lots of waves, thumbs up, peace signs & flashing lights! Police and ambulance even approved so that was cool, so all in all I was super chuffed that I may have brightened up some peoples day with that little Wally stunt. My 3 children couldn't believe the reponse either and were suddenly so glad mum was Wally. Thank you girls for your unwavering support, it means the world to me. Love from Your embarrassing Mum x

'Lil Will'

Thursday 29th Aug
Today I received a beautiful gift that really touched my heart. This is 'lil Will' in loving memory of Baby William who's spirit animal is an elephant 🐘 He will travel with me throughout my entire 100km Wally Walk. When William passed his parents still wanted William to know that he is thought of everyday by his loved ones and family members were gifted a 'lil will' to take with them on their travels; William in spirit travelling with his family. Each Km of my walk is dedicated to a special baby sadly no longer with us & I have decided to dedicate my 100th km in loving memory of baby William so that he can travel with me and enjoy the wonderful scenery. Photographs from my travels will go alongside other family members photos of 'lil will' on their travels and I am so grateful to be allowed to honour him in such a way. This fundraiser has led me to meet some incredibly beautiful people. Thank you to Stephen and Tina for allowing me into your hearts and sharing the love you have for William with me and to everybody who has supported my fundraising journey so far, the families who are grieving their loved ones truly do appreciate every penny.
