I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Support me as I take on 5, 10 or 15km in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Ribbon Run is a sponsored run, walk or jog where thousands of people come together to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. It’s free to sign up and it’s up to you how you take part. You can run it, walk it, push it, or jog it; alone or with friends and family.

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Ribbon Run for Emilia 💗

This October I (and Nathan should his foot be well enough!) will be running in memory of our girl Emilia Allen-Green and all of the babies who didn’t get to take a breath in this world, or did but left it far too soon 💘
I didn’t really intend to be building up running again quite so soon after the birth of our second rainbow Finley as it’s been a few years due to bowel surgery in 2024, but I saw this event the day before what would have been her 6th birthday and it felt like a sign to join and try to give back to one of the charities that helps parents through the worst time of their lives. 
Emilia was a healthy baby throughout all our scans including the anomaly at 20 weeks, however we discovered when I had reduced movements at 28 weeks, she had severe ventriculomegaly and an intraventricular haemorrhage, I gave birth to her a week later stillborn and breech, a perfect 2lb 9oz. 
It was all very fast and we were supported amazingly, including given memory boxes, a camera to use to capture any pictures we wanted, hand and foot prints and a mould of her feet. These little things help me get through days when I’m low even now nearly 6 years later, I still have contact with the bereavement midwives and they have supported me throughout our 2 rainbow pregnancies. 
SANDS provide vital support for grieving families but also support research to try and stop more babies dying, please if you can donate even just a couple of pounds as it can make so much difference when it all adds up - thank you 👶🏼👣
