I’m jogging 31 miles in May for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to jogging 31 miles in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

A crunching knee won't stop me

Friday 30th May
Throughout this challenge I have been running on a cracked meniscus on my left knee, fare to say running while hearing my knee make a crunching sound hasn't been, ideal... But it's not gonna stop me getting this done ♥️

First run done!

Thursday 1st May
A really challenging but rewarding first 5.5km run, trying to aim for 5mins per km and only just fell shy at 5min 12 - proud feeling getting this challenge under way and although my knee isn't, I'm looking forward to the next run 💪🏼

Why I'm doing this

Wednesday 23rd Apr
This May, I’ve decided to lace up my running shoes not just for fitness, but for a cause that touches the hearts of far too many families: supporting parents who have experienced the unimaginable pain of stillbirth.
I’m taking on a charity challenge to raise awareness and funds for Sands, an organization that offers vital support to grieving parents navigating life after loss. Their work provides counseling, memory-making resources, and a community of understanding—things that can make all the difference in the darkest moments.

Stillbirth is a topic that’s often hidden in silence, but it affects thousands every year. Behind every statistic is a story, a name, a heartbeat that was once heard and then lost. I’m running to honor those stories, to say their names matter, and to show that their lives—however brief—left an impact.

It's so heartwarming to see you take this on Dom. Sands have been a big part of our support after losing Hallie and I cannot express how life changing the work they do is. Thank you for contributing to raising awareness of baby loss, something that very few people can comfortably talk about when talking about our babies is all us bereaved parents want to do x
