I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Thank you all so far, very much appreciated 💖

Hi Dai,

Wow! You’ve just hit £200!

Your £200 is enough to provide a full day of bereavement care training for midwives and healthcare professionals, making sure they can offer the best possible care to vulnerable families facing the worst of tragedies. All because of you!

Remember to send your fabulous supporters a thank you message and do a shout out of your new grand total on your social media.

Thanks again for your awesome effort {member_firstname}, you’re helping Sands be there for anyone affected by the loss of a baby.
With warmest wishes,

For our Baby Girl

Saturday 3rd Jan
Hi, my name is David but my friends call me Dai. On the 31st of May 2010 my wife gave birth to our beautiful baby girl Angel at just 23 weeks gestation. We were blessed that she was born alive however she only survived for an hour, An hour that we will always be forever thankful for.
Nothing truly prepares you for the profound, shock, emptiness and deep on going pain of losing a baby but SANDS ( Stillborn and Neonatal death charity) offer help and support to anyone affected by the death of a baby.

Help Build a Community of Care for Families Facing Baby Loss

When a baby dies, the silence is profound and all of the hopes, dreams and tiny moments that should have been are gone in an instant. That silence and emptiness echoes through homes, hospitals and communities, leaving lives forever changed. At Sands, we stand beside families in that silence, offering compassion, understanding, and hope when it’s needed most. But we can only do that because of your generosity.
Your support helps create a nationwide network of care — one that reaches grieving parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and the professionals who support them.
