100km of Hope: Honouring Charlie and Supporting Sands
This September, my amazing friend Tracy and I are walking 100km for Sands, in memory of my son Charlie, who should have been celebrating his 18th birthday this year.
Charlie was stillborn on 12th October 2007, full term and 10 days overdue, weighing 10.8lb. The support I received from Sands was a lifeline, helping me begin to process such a devastating loss.
Now we want to give back: raising awareness, funding vital research into placenta failure, and showing other parents that support is out there.
Every step we take is for Charlie, and for a future where fewer families face this heartbreak.
