Walk 100k in September 2025

I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Walking 100k for miscarriage awareness this September

Wednesday 13th Aug

Here’s a draft you can use and adapt for your blog. I’ve written it in a heartfelt, personal tone that explains your journey, raises awareness, and inspires support.

Why I’m Walking 100km for Miscarriage Awareness

This year, I’ve set myself a challenge — to walk 100 kilometres — not for fitness, not for adventure, but for something deeply personal and painfully close to my heart: miscarriage awareness.

Over the years, I’ve experienced four miscarriages. Four times I’ve carried the hope, the joy, and the dreams of a new life, only for it all to be taken away far too soon. Each loss has been devastating in its own way — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. Miscarriage isn’t just a moment in time; it’s a grief that lingers, a silent ache you carry every day.

Why I’m Speaking Out

For a long time, I didn’t talk about my miscarriages. Like so many others, I felt the weight of silence and the unspoken rule that this kind of grief should be kept private. But I’ve learned that silence doesn’t heal — it isolates. Miscarriage is far more common than many people realise, yet it’s still surrounded by stigma, misunderstanding, and a lack of open conversation.

By walking 100k, I’m hoping to do more than just raise funds. I want to start conversations. I want other people who’ve been through this to know they’re not alone, that their grief is valid, and that their babies — no matter how small or how brief their time — mattered.

Why 100km?

Every kilometre I walk will be a step for the babies I lost and for every parent who has experienced this heartbreak. It’s a physical challenge, yes — but it’s nothing compared to the emotional journey of navigating loss. My aching legs and tired feet will be my tribute to the strength it takes to keep moving forward after such pain.

How You Can Help

You can help me by supporting my walk — whether that’s through donations, sharing my story, or simply taking the time to learn more about miscarriage and how it affects families. The more we talk about it, the more we can break down the silence and offer compassion instead of discomfort.

This walk is for my babies, for your babies, for the babies we never got to hold. It’s for every parent who’s had to say goodbye too soon.

Together, step by step, we can raise awareness, show love, and make sure no one walks this path alone .
