I’m walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Why I’m walking 100k

Wednesday 11th Feb

This year, I’m walking 100 kilometres for Sands.

Not because it will be easy.

Not because I have loads of spare time (as a mum of three, that’s laughable).

But because I know what it feels like to experience the kind of loss that changes you forever.

There are moments in life that divide everything into “before” and “after.”

Losing a baby is one of them.

It’s a grief that’s hard to explain. It’s love with nowhere to go. It’s milestones that never come. It’s wondering who they would have been. And it’s carrying that ache quietly while the world keeps moving.

Sands supports families like mine — families navigating baby loss, shock, heartbreak, and the long road that follows. They provide support, understanding, and a community that reminds you you’re not alone. And when you’re in that space, not feeling alone means everything.

So I’m walking.

I’m walking for my baby.

I’m walking for every parent who has held hopes and dreams that never got the chance to grow.

I’m walking for the siblings who carry questions in their hearts.

And I’m walking so that other families can access the support they need in their darkest moments.

100 kilometres will be tough. There will be sore legs, early mornings, probably a few blisters. But none of that compares to the strength it takes to survive loss.

Every step is for remembrance.

Every mile is for love.

Every donation helps Sands continue the incredible work they do.

If you’re able to support me, whether by donating or sharing this, I would be so grateful. And if you’ve experienced loss too, please know you are not alone.

This walk is for them. Always. 🤍
