I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Story

Monday 29th Dec

This January, I’ll be running 2 kilometres every single day to raise money and awareness for Sands, a charity that supports anyone affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby. Their work is vital, and their support has helped families like mine during the hardest moments of their lives.

WHY SANDS? WHY THIS CHALLENGE?

As many of you know, me and Laura lost our baby boy, Baby B, to a condition called cystic hygroma. We had to give birth to him knowing we wouldn’t be able to bring him home. It’s an experience that reshaped us forever, the kind of loss no parent should ever have to face, yet far too many do.

Running 2k a day might not sound like the biggest physical challenge in the world but turning up every day, in the cold, the rain, and the dark mornings and evenings, is what really matters and teach reach my goal and help this charity would be very much appreciated!

OUR RAINBOW, WATCHED OVER BY HER SISTER

After losing Baby B, our journey continued and blessed us with our beautiful little girl Skylar-Mae, our rainbow after the storm. She fills our home with light, laughter and love every day.

But she is never alone.

We know her big sister, Harper-Rose, is watching over her, just as Baby B watches over us. Our family will always have more love than the world can see. This run is for all of them: the babies we hold in our arms, and the babies we hold in our hearts.
