My Why...

I'm fundraising in aid of Sands, for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

My big brother was born asleep in 2008 and I often wonder what he would be like and what it would have been like to have a big brother. As a family we celebrate him and never forget that he is part of us!

As part of my schools "Active Christan Ethics award" I will be doing a sponsored walk and give away, free gifts (lucky dip) to children along the way. I will be doing this across the summer holidays and am hoping to be able to make people aware of who Sands are and be able to make a difference to someone who needs it. 

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Ensuring there is phone support for bereaved parents and familys . Providing free memory boxes to bereaved familys to keep their precious memories in . Ensuring research can continue to help find ways to prevent loss And SO much more!!!! Each donation is literally life changing, it means hope, it means that change is possible and it means that life after loss can be bearable, happy and positive. Well today I have walked some 🤍

I have done over 13,000 steps and I even tried having a run!!! It was nice to get out and just be, I met my big cousin and off we went....

While he is super quick and i couldnt have kept up, i wanted to make sure that I am actively trying to get out without Mum and prove to myself that I can do this!!!! 

Now to master carrying my lucky dip box and my collection pot at the same time.... Maybe Mum might need to help a little at least 🫣

Its not easy fundraising, especially not at my age.... 12 is kinda akward, learning to approach strangers, instigagte that conversation and interact (which i find hard anyway!) Add on the passion, I want to do this well, not just for Sands but because I am carrying my brother in my heart always.... Fundraising is heart felt, it has to be. Its been difficult to say the least and its amazing how many people have never heard of Sands 🧡💙 Mum says I am doing amazing and that any difference I make is powerful and life changing and that spreading awarness is so vital because you never know who may need to know Sands exist and are there for them. I have felt a little deflated this week, but I am not giving up!!! I have three weeks left and I am going to make them count!!! 🎉 I am giving myself grace and kindness and I am going to continue on my mission to help Sands make a difference to those who need them most!!! Lets make a change together 🤍🙌

What a lovely family!!! It was a pleasure to give out some freebies today, bubble wands were a huge hit and this family were kind enough to let us have a photo 😍 I am so grateful for their donations, our collection pot is filling nicely 🎉
