I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
We have committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run in Manchester which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week on Satrurday 11 October 2025. We are taking part for every much-loved baby sadly not here today, especially our Baby Foley.
On Saturday 20th September we attended HeyBaby4D in Stalybridge for a dating scan. I was 11 weeks 5 days. We took our parents and Charlie as we thought all was okay and we were ready to announce… I heard the words “i’m so sorry, there’s no heartbeat. You’ve had a missed miscarriage”. We went to Oldham Hopsital GAU straight away. I then attended again on the following Monday 22nd September (which was our 12 week dating scan date) I had a scan and they confirmed there was no heartbeat. Our babies heartbeat stopped at 6 weeks but I was still carrying for a further 7 weeks. I was sent home for a further week to see if my body would pass naturally. I passed our baby very traumatically on Friday 26th September. Nothing in this world prepares you for such a devastating loss and I am so grateful that I had Calum right beside me. Our family and friends have been amazing helping us get through this awful time too!
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
